Concerns Over Pre-season Briefings

The CFA/VFBV Joint Operations Committee has raised concerns that messages from this year’s pre-season briefings are not flowing on sufficiently to members at the front line.

This year’s meetings have been mainly targeted at members operating in the level 3 environment, and many delegates have reported no knowledge of the briefings or members who have attended.

The Joint Committee has raised the concern with CFA of the dangers of not bringing all members up to speed on the state arrangements that may have significant impacts on local command and control arrangements, especially at small to medium developing incidents.

Delegates have asked that CFA review its method to ensure greater engagement with members.
